Do You Feel Broken?
While driving home this evening from our Wednesday evening Bible study at Crow Mountain Baptist Church, I was listening to one of my favorite songs by Casting Crowns called “Broken.” Listening to it made me realize how many people are struggling in life feeling as thought they have been broken. Broken by bad marriages, bad judgements, bad childhoods and a host of other things that we often see in the lives of those who surround us today.
Do you feel like you are at the end of your road? Do you feel like you have been broken and are unable to take anymore that life has dealt you? There is great news! Jesus can take your broken heart and mend it back together.
What does the Bible have to say about this?
28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”
There is nothing that you are going through that Jesus can’t reach into your heart and begin to mend the strings that have been broken.
Many think that only people who are not believers are the only ones who suffer from feeling broken. This is not true. Even the most devout Christian can feel down and like they have reached an end. What truly makes the difference is that we have a Savior to give our broken heart too. He’s ready to take your broken heart and make it whole again.
It doesn’t matter where you have been in life. It doesn’t matter what your past is. The only thing Jesus is looking for is a place for Him to enter into. That place is within your heart. Stop carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and let the best thing that could ever happen in your life take place. That is allowing Jesus to come into your heart!
Let me be the first to tell you that being a Christian doesn’t always mean that life will be a bed of roses and that life will never throw you a curve again. That couldn’t be further from the truth. What does matter is the fact that after you ask Jesus into your life, you now have a guiding light to lead you through across those rough roads.
There isn’t anything in life that you are going through that Jesus isn’t ready to take off of your heart. The only thing that separates you from a life of that can include freedom from your burdens is being willing and open to accepting Him into your life as your personal Lord & Savior. If you have questions about who Jesus is and what it He can do, I encourage you to learn more about the good news of Jesus and see for yourself.
