The Time Is Close
Prophecy is being fulfilled everywhere around us. With the most tragic event that occurred in Oregon with a tragic shooting of several students, this is nothing more than evidence of prophecy being fulfilled. What does the Bible have to say about this? Let’s take a look at Isaiah 3:5, People will oppress each other–man against man, neighbor against neighbor. Young people will insult their elders, and vulgar people will sneer at the honorable.
From Gill’s Exposition
And the people shall be oppressed, everyone by another, and everyone by his neighbor,…. There being no governors, or such as were unfit for government, no decorum was kept and observed, but a mere anarchy; and so everyone did as he pleased, as when there was no king in Israel; and everyone rushed into the house of his neighbor, and plundered his goods; this was the case of Jerusalem, at the time of the siege, it abounding with robbers and spoilers:
the child shall behave himself proudly against the ancient; show no respect to them, nor honor them, as the law requires in Leviticus 19:32 but behave insolently towards them; and so the Jews say (d), that when the son of David is come, as he now would be, young men shall make ashamed the faces of old men, and old men shall stand before young men:
and the base against the honorable; persons of a mean birth and extract would rise up against and insult such as were men of families and fortune, of noble birth and of high degree.
When Did This Start?
As tragic as the event in Oregon is, this actually goes back into Biblical days. However, in association to modern day times, you can see this beginning to take place in 1973 with the passing of Roe Vs. Wade. This is when America started saying that people were disposable and doing so through abortion. Now the same trend is becoming prevalent based upon a persons choice to believe in Jesus Christ. From reports that are starting to fill the airwaves around this shooting event, the individual who conducted this horrific act asked his victims if they were Christian. If they answered yes, they were shot in the head. People are running around scared. Parents are afraid to send their children to school for fear that something of this nature could occur where their children attend. However, their is a message here.
What’s The Message?
Fear not for I am with you! Isaiah 41:10
We can’t allow ourselves to be overtaken by fear. We must remain strong in our faith. There has never been a greater time to profess our faith and our love for Jesus Christ than now. While some will see this as a time to keep your faith to yourself, I see it as a time to be bold in our faith.
I will not be controlled by one person’s desire to conduct harm to others.
Jesus did not give us a spirit of fear. 2 Timothy 1:7 For God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power and of love and of a sound mind.
I choose to live victorious, regardless of what the current times throw my way. I can only encourage each of you to do the same.
Our pastor has repeatedly told us that we are living so close to the brink of the second coming of Jesus. This is only proof positive of what he has been sharing with us. Get rooted in God’s word and encourage one another. So many people and family’s are having issues. This is not a time to fight nor separate based on difference, but rather a time to comfort and encourage each other.
God is watching what each of us do! How will you be judged? Rather than us placing judgment on the young man that committed this horrific act, let us try and gain better understanding of those who are suffering from mental illness. But by the grace of God, any of us could experience something like this.
Put On The Whole Armour of God
This is why it is vital that each of us know how to put on the whole Armour of God. Not only is it important to understand this, but it is equally important to know where we stand in our walk with Jesus.
There has never been a better time to get tight with Jesus than right now….
